MSc thesis project proposal

Analytics with Multiple-Sensor Lighting Data

Project outside the university

Philips Research

Data analytics is important in many different applications, such as lighting systems. In this project, data from connected lighting systems is used to derive useful insights into occupancy and other aspects of space utilization. This project will be a joint effort between Philips Research (contact person Dr. Ashish Pandharipande, ashish.p@philips.com) and the Circuits and Systems group of the Delft University of Technology.

Assignment

In this MSc project, you will develop and adopt data analytics tools for analyzing lighting system data.

Requirements

For this project, we are looking for a master student in either electrical engineering, applied physics, mathematics, computational science or any related study. Furthermore we are looking for a student who has a background in signal processing, sensors, basic statistical techniques, data analysis, and programming skills in Matlab and/or C/C++. Strong communication (written and verbal) skills in English is a must. Expected project duration is about 9 to 12 months.
