Jeroen van Gemert received his B.Sc and M.Sc degrees from the University of Technology Delft. His master thesis was entitled: �Imaging of Cracks and Weak Spots in Steel and Aluminium Plate Rolls,� which he carried out at the Circuits & Systems of the EEMCS faculty. After graduation, Jeroen started to work as a software engineer for the company Imtech Traffic & Infra. Exactly a year later, he got an offer to start his PhD at the TU Delft. Since January 2015 he�s working on dielectric enhanced MRI as a PhD candidate (http://cas.et.tudelft.nl/Research/project.php?id=48&pid=336). These dielectrics are promising for the following reason. When using high field MRI some images tend to have some blind spots due to interference. By using dielectric pads placed closely to the human body, these spots disappear. The positive effect is strongly dependent upon the geometry, location, and permittivity of the pad, but also depends on the patient. This project is about modeling and analyzing the effect of high permittivity pads in MRI imaging in order to find the optimum pad. The project is a collaboration between the Microwave Sensing, Signals and Systems department of the TU Delft, the Circuits & Systems department of the TU Delft, and the C.J. Gorter Center for High-field MRI of the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC).
